We kicked off February with a powerful and timely conversation in our virtual webinar, Between Customs and Justice: Reimagining Traditional Dispute Resolution Through a Women’s Rights Lens, held on 4 February 2026.
The discussion took a closer look at how traditional dispute resolution can evolve to better reflect fairness, equality, and the protection of women’s rights while still respecting the value of cultural practices. It was an honest and thought-provoking exchange on where tradition works, where it falls short, and what meaningful reform could look like.
We were privileged to hear from an incredible panel: Dr. Susan Kinyeki (Deputy Director, EACC), Jemimah Aluda (Head of Secretariat, Alternative Justice Systems, Judiciary), Kilonzi Kangangi (Kamba Elder), and Adedola Adetokunbo Ajayi (LLB, AICMC). Each brought a unique perspective that made the conversation both rich and practical.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us. The questions, reflections, and discussions made the session as engaging as it was insightful we truly appreciate you being part of it
