On 18 November 2025, Our Chairperson Eunice Lumallas had the privilege of joining fellow panelists at the African-German Congress 2025, hosted at the Handelskammer Hamburg (Chamber of Commerce) under the heading “Doing Business in Africa: Think Local, Resolve Smart” and co-organised by the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft (German – African Business Association) and the African-German Arbitration Cooperation (AfGAC). Dr. Arch. Sylvia Kasanga, FCIArb, an Executive Committee Member and Head of Mentorship, also moderated a panel session and expertly steered a rich and engaging dialogue.
The Congress brought together business leaders, legal experts, and policymakers to explore how localised, smart dispute resolution can strengthen economic ties and foster legal certainty an essential foundation for sustainable investment and growth across Africa. AfGAC represents a powerful collaboration between African arbitration institutions and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce built on mutual respect and a shared vision for equitable economic cooperation.
